My company organised an annual walking charity event last Friday where I almost participated every year. It was a 5KM walk around town in the early morning at 8am where most of the folks are still scrambling to work. The walk was nice and peaceful, with breezy fresh air around especially when we pass through parks like Fort Canning Parks. However, we didn't pass through Marina Bay Sands and the stretch of Singapore riverside that much this year compared to previous years. Watching the early sun from MBS and the rivermouth was quite a nice experience. Ok, I let the photos do the talking.

The photos are very nice esp the old buildings. I always admire them when I visited Singapore. You should walk more often on your own from 5 to 50 km.
ReplyDeleteTM - haha... enough la. I would prefer to jog around there.
DeleteThe first picture looks like it is in some European country instead. Nice blue sky to complement the old buildings.
ReplyDeleteMerryn - Yeah , it will never go wrong to take landscape and buildings pixs in the morning.
DeleteOooo...I love those colonial buildings. So good that they have maintained them so well. That's the Orchard Road Presbyterian Church, I think. Many beautiful churches all over - not far. Chijmes being renovated? Used to be the Church & Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus, Catholic - that is where the CHIJ in the name came from. If I'm not mistaken MPH used to be on the ground floor of that Ministry of Communications and Information building.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of all those modern buildings - so soulless, no character.
Stp - chimes was no longer a church for ages. It's an entertaining hub with lots of outlets. Yes, being renovated now. MPH also no more there already.
DeleteWah you walk walk walk halfway still can snap photos with your sweaty hands, haha.. Those buildings all looks so well maintained.. The Ministry Of Communications & Information building catch my attention, so colourful, like Lego house..
ReplyDeletePrincess - walk and snap lor ...

ReplyDeleteSk - this one cannot warm up la.... Hahah...
DeleteMy friend church is organising a walk in Nov, i looking forward to that...
ReplyDeleteSharon - Nice, go for it.
DeleteIt is nice to take a walk in the morning and admire the surroundings. Since it is a charity walk, all the better.
ReplyDeletePhong - I always look forward to sports events except long distance marathons. ..haaha
DeleteIt sure is nice to sometimes just walk around and enjoy the sights slowly, right?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great initiative by your company.
Lina - yeah, can relax the muscles while exercising.
DeleteSounds fun!
ReplyDeleteKen :)
DeleteNice! Singapore is an awesome place to walk. I remember walking a lot when my sis used to live opposite Changi Hospital too, you don't feel like you have to watch out for cars and people actually stop at crossings unlike in Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteHB - yes, there are too many places here to walk ....orchard road .. etc.
Deletelovely snaps
ReplyDeleteKucing :)
DeleteThis definitely does not look like Orchard Road. The gorgeous Church building in Canning Rise caught my eye for specific reasons, and I must say that it has the historical feel to it. ^^
ReplyDeleteWaverly - Nope , this is around the singapore river, mbs, Clark Quay.
