All thanks to
SK's travelogue to Japan, especially on the ramen in Sapporo last week. After finishing a workout, I can't help myself but to go for a nice bowl of a similar Tonkatsu Miso Ramen, which they stated it's from Sapporo on the menu, as well as recommended by the chef. Well, I had it in Men-ichi Ramen at Northpoint which featured many varieties of Japanese ramens. The soup was really thick and nice which I doesn't really know how to describe it while the ramen was very smooth. The cha shu, which I ordered 2 pieces, was delicious too. It was salty enough with a little bit of fat and lean meat.

Well, it's ok la... I had a tough workout thus, good to reward myself with a nice hot bowl of ramen! :)
Love those pork slices with a layer of fat! Ummm...you eat that?
ReplyDeleteStp - Once a while la.... must enjoy all things.
DeleteOnce in a week to have a good reward is fine!! =]
ReplyDeleteXiao Ying - yes, all of us must reward ourselves once in a while.
Deletehahahaha!! i had lots of ramen during my recent trip to Japan.. i think i've just shown you two only and you cannot take it already?? still more to come leh~~ :p
ReplyDeletewah can "see" your evil planning face jor LOL
DeleteSk - aiyo.....cham liao! I wonder how my bowls of ramen I have to eat.
DeleteKucing - huh ? Why evil planning face ?
DeletePrince, your Sapporo ramen no corn one ahh? Means, I always go to this Japanese restaurant, their Sapporo ramen got corn one.. Maybe "Dr. Quack", hahahaha..
ReplyDeletei saw two biji of corn covered under the spring onions and flooded by the soup..
DeletePrincess - got la....like what sk said , it's there. The corns were submerged inside the soup.
Deletewow, chef's recommendation and it's from Sapporo.. i would assume they mean it's Sapporo recipe than everything flown in from Sapporo?? the broth look thick and flavorful, and i wonder what were that two pieces of whitish thing between the seaweed and the chashu??
ReplyDeleteSk - of course it's the recipe la, don't think the fly from support but then, they might ordered from there. The whitish thing are vegetables, cabbage.
DeleteBTW, are you sure that is Tonkatsu or Tonkotsu?? correct me if i'm wrong, i thougt tonkatsu (豚カツ) is the deep fried breaded pork cutlet (which i didn't see at all) and tonkotsu ((豚骨) means the pork bone.. just one letter difference!! hehehehe~~
ReplyDeleteSk - Haha...you are right. It's tonkotsu not tonkatsu. The latter are for fried pork. Aiya...I don't know Japanese food well.
DeleteI like the Ramen at one of the place that start with B, keke...
ReplyDeleteSharon - oh.....I know.
DeleteIt looks good. SK should taste this and then give verdict if it is good enough or not.
ReplyDeletePhong - then sk have to come all the way to SG. Lol
