KSL City is one of the happening malls in JB after it was opened few years ago. It was located at the heart of JB city centre where most of the shopping malls have already move into the housing estates, especially at the north. After attending my kid's school open day, we decided to drive to KSL city for lunch. There were a lot of eateries in KSL City and seeing that SDS has just opened an outlet there, we decided to try it. It was also quiet and relaxing with a less crowded restaurant.

I got myself an Aglio Olio since I wanted something light on that day. Somehow, I still prefer linguine to spaghetti as the latter seems thicker.

A kiddy fish and chips meal for my little princess

My wifey shared this salmon pasta with my kid

And, as usual, a cuppa of coffee for me!
It was a rainy Sunday and we go ran our errands after the lunch at Tesco in KSL City. My kid was glad he doesnt have to attend school on that Sunday. It was really a while since we go out as a family on a Sunday, since the new weekend started in JB. :(

One of my deputy directors introduce me to some quality cleaning materials for glasses, lens, laptop screens and etc. He was telling me that since we spent so much on our spectacles or cameras or mobile phones and so on, why settled for a cheap reusable cloth or tissues to wipe your lens? He gave me a few samples to try on and I immediately love it. After cleaning the surface, it was  really clean and I felt even dust would easily blown away from the surface. He recommended me Zeiss , which makes branded lens but after shopping around, I found a cheaper alternative in Glasso as I can't find the former. It cost me S$15 per box which contains 100 disposal  lens cleaning wet tissues. By the way, this is not a paid post.

Got it from Spectacle hut, but my colleague also saw it at Best Denki

Each wet tissue is kept in a small packet.

Just tear off the packet and you got a small wrap of the wet tissue. It was full of antiseptic smell and wet in alcohol.

Open up the wrap and I have to immediately wipe it or else the alcohol will dry out very fast. Usually, it's one tissue for one device but I tried to reuse it by wiping on as many as other devices.
The only thing I dislike about this brand was the strong smell of alcohol or antiseptic, compre to the Zeiss brand, else it would do fine. I am using it to clean my spectacles, phone and tablet, almost every alternate days.  Loving it!! :)

After having a strawberry cake the day before, my little princess seems hooked on it and kept mentioning about it. I also teased her about bringing her to another cake shop and she seems delighted. Seeing that she like it so much, I decided to bring my family to Niniq Bistro again for lunch. They also make good cakes and pastries.

And this is her second strawberry cake, in two days

My son missed out the first time and this time round, he got himself a chocolate cake, with three balls of creams on top.

Enjoying her cake

My wifey ordered a mushroom soup for the kids

I had a gule lamb set since it's Easter. The rendang was very nice and the lamb meat was soft. I also like the nasi kuning which was very fragrant.

My wifey decided to go for something light - Pasta.

Last but not least, a flat white for me.
Happy Weekend!!

I was back early than usual last Thursday to JB, which is also the Maundy Thursday. There was a church service at night and knowing myself that I will unlikely able to wake up for the 6am Easter Sunday service as well as doubtful for the Good Friday night service, I thought it's a good idea to attend this one. After all, there was a holy communion too.

My lovely wifey fetched me from the CIQ around 4pm and we headed off for a light tea break. And, we ended in Moonlight cafe. It seems like the cafe is opening lots of branches lately. I went to this one in Taman Pelangi which was opened not long ago.

My little princess was hook to the cakes!

And she got herself a strawberry cream cake

Enjoying her cake!

My wifey and I shared a club sandwich since it's almost dinner

And not forgetting my cup of cappuccino
After that, I get myself ready for the Maundy Thursday night service. The church was not that crowded since it's a Thursday night and I had some peaceful moments, though both body and mind are tired by 10pm. I woke up at 7am that day.

This is one precious 'kampua' noodles which flew miles across the South China Sea to the southern part of West Malaysia. And, in addition, since my family and I were not around when the Poslaju men delivered the package, I have to drive around 10KM to Pasir Gudang from JB. Since I am not familiar with the Pasir Gudang area, I gotta stop by two petrol kiosks to ask for directions to the Poslaju warehouse under a rainy day. When I got the parcel, I was like ..phew... I finally got it.... How precious is it!! LOL...

Thus, this will certainly make the noodles tastier and it was still looking good and in one piece. I will try it later since I am already back in Singapore. Thanks again STP for your kind gift! :) Hope to try the cooked kampua noodles by the experts in Sibu some day!

Since one of my ceiling fans are broken and my wife suggested to go to Taman Johor Jaya where there's a newly opened warehouse electrical appliances and home decor shops there. It's indeed two shops selling goods at warehouse prices, though it's cash and carry. While on the way to the our destination, I though it's a good idea to stop at Toast Box again. Afterall, it's just a 5 mins drive to the warehouse.

The menu in Toast Box , JB is slightly different from those in Singapore and I find that they have more varieties of food. And, in addition, of course the outlet is bigger here. I had a mamak mee goreng (which makes me needed to run more ....!!!) and it came with two delicious prawns. Its delicious, not bad!!

Mamak mee goreng
While in Toast box, definitely its a must to order kaya toasts. I still find that their kaya are one of the best. Maybe I do not prefer those pandan kaya types found in most kopitiam.
Kaya toast

And, not forgetting a cuppa of kopi kao.
OK, I got a stylish black three-blade fan at RM750 after discount, with a remote control and lights and will get a technician to install it soon. The fan power is powerful and the brand is Deka.

Have a good weekend!

It was last Friday and all my colleagues seems wanted to wind down after a tough week! Me too, was swarmed with a lot of work including Friday itself. Thus, we decided to have lunch at Resort World Sentosa, at Hard Rock cafe. After all, there was a set lunch promotion at S$15 nett.

Hard Rock Cafe in RWS, Singapore

Decors at HRC

Not too crowded, except a few tables occupied

Another  glimpse of HRC. It was quiet on a Friday.

The pretty and friendly waitress taking our orders

Appetiser - A thick mushroom cream soup. It was nice, unlike those campbell type!

This time round, I go for Ice Lemon Tea instead of coffee. By the way, I only realised I had a cup of coffee only for the day!

The main dish - A grilled fish with vegetables and mash potato

Dessert - Haagen-Dazz ice-cream. I am very surprised they served us expensive ice-cream for an affordable set lunch. Really worth the money!
I guess that's a good idea to end a stressful week, by having a good lunch and look forward to another half a day before weekend starts! :)

I found a new Japanese restaurant which was opened around the Permas Jaya area while on the way to Jusco Permas. Permas Jaya always had many Japanese restaurant here due to a small group of Japanese expats working around the Pasir Gudang area and staying here. Thus, as Japanese food lovers, we decided to patronise Umatai restaurant. It was very close to the famous Italian restaurant, Toro's Espanol, and I am not sure if it belongs to the same management too.

Sake Maki and Kani Maki - The rice was tight and the ingredients are fresh. Not bad!!

Sake Maki

Moyashi Ramen

Chirashi Sushi - An assortment of sashimi with rice underneath

My kids' favourite Salmon Teriyaki Set

I had a Salmon Shioyaki Bento. I always like Salmon Shioyaki ... it's also healthy.
I think the food here was not bad and i don't mind coming again.Altogether, with four cups of green tea, the bill came to RM132. The ambience there was not bad and it was really quiet but each individual room was spacious. I like to dine in such environment, compare to those crowded and noisy ones. It was a relaxing dinner!

Umatei is located at 3, Jalan Permas 10/10, Bandar Baru Permas Jaya, 81750 Masai, Johor.

Wow..... this is the first time I received gifts from fellow bloggers and it came in a pair! Not sure if its a coincident where both lovely bloggers went for their tours almost at the same time though different destination but I was elated to see some little surprises from the Postman.

Firstly, Rose's gift came first where I picked it up from my postbox. It was a lovely traditional Siamese keychain with a Thai mask. And, it came with some sweets....which makes the gift so much sweeter!! Thanks Rose!! :) I always love Thai stuffs!

Golden keychain from Rose with some Thai delicacies
Next, came Wenn who sent it thru Poslaju which was received by my wifey. She just got back from Europe and she got me a beautiful keychain in the form of a boat. And, how thoughtful she is, she knew I love coffee and she put in two packs of ah Huat's specialty coffee. It was the 'kao' type and the 'hazelnut' type. Well, I usually drank the less sugar and kopi-O type from Ah Huat and good to try out new flavour.

A beautiful keychain from Wenn
I have yet to open the keychains and I guess I will not but just keep it. Thanks again to Rose and Wenn, really appreciate your tokens of appreciation! :)

Though to most of the runners or marathon runners, the below reading should be considered slow, I never felt so good in achieving my 'personal best' so far since I started running longer than 20 minutes. I started the 5KM run quite slow initially, finished around 50 mins. Then, it got better and better as I finished the run in 48 mins, 46 mins and now 44 mins. Woah ... I felt so accomplished and good after the run. I hope I can get better than this but then, I also don't want to over-stress myself. Just enjoy it!

After the run, I decided to reward myself with a high calories McD meal. :P Good to replenish ...hehehe...

Have a good weekend  :)

It was a yearly affair where I will drove and accompanied my wife to pay respect to her late mom or my mother in law at the Nilai Memorial Park. Like any families, it was also a family gathering where almost the entire clan will turned out and it makes the gathering very warm and fun. It's almost three generations altogether there with my little princess the youngest one. I didn't really know my mom-in-law well as the first time I met her was in the hospital and sadly, she pass on then due to cancer. I just started dating my wife-to-be at that moment. I heard lots of beautiful stories of how nice her mom was as she almost never had a temper, even from my close friend who was my wife's cousin.

This is the first time it rained on our visits yearly and luckily the rain stopped when we reached there and what we had was a beautiful cooling weather. It was not as crowded as past years too.

A panoramic view of one part of the memorial park

One of the lotus pond there

Another view of the beautiful park, after the rain

Clean, peaceful and serene

I find this tree very captivating it was without much leaves

Lighting up firecrackers

Yours truly with little princess with my kid 'photobomb'
We also had our lunch there under the shades of the big umbrellas, where my sis-in-laws dished out some nice food like petai fried rice, dumplings and etc.

It's a nice gathering! ;)
