Somehow I find that negative thoughts can be dangerous to our well-being and worst still, if not control, it may spiral into a monster. It's just like a small fire when spread, can be as dangerous as a forest fire which gave us haze....hahaha... What prompted me to blog about this topic is I remember there was once I keep worrying over small matters and these small matters really crippled me. OK, for example, (though this not a very good example), I am not sure if I have off the air-cond. when I was half-way to work. Thus, I begin to keep thinking whether I did or not and when I think I did, 'creative' negative thoughts will pop-out automatically, like the heavy bill I am going to pay, whether the air-cond will broke down or got on fire if it keep on working and etc. It's also the same on any situations where you are worried about , like taking a flight, driving long distance, public speaking and etc.
I guess the best way to overcome all these is to stop the flow of the negative thoughts by doing and thinking constructive positive thoughts and actions. If you are afraid the air-cond is not off, just drive back to check, though it's a bit inconvenienced or if you have a meeting, just inform that you have an urgent matter and apologize, then reschedule the meeting. If it's driving, say a prayer before the journey and tell yourself to drive carefully at a comfortable speed. Just ignore all those irritational negative thoughts if there's nothing much you can do , like flying on a plane, and try to focus on other stuffs.
Another way of feeling better is to indulge in good food and I had some Japanese food after a ..erm...4 days ago... which is considered kinda long. Eating good food sure chase away all the bad thoughts. :)

There's always a way out for every bad situation! Think positive and have a victorious week!
That is a whole lot of food for a person. You ate this all at one time?
ReplyDeleteI guess guys are like that (regarding the aircond). William is also like that esp when it comes to locking his car. He'll always go back to make sure the car is locked -.-
Of course not la ... Hahaha ..
DeleteYeah , but it's better to check and have a peace of mind rather than keep worrying over it.
Yes, think positive...think happy - these will radiate to those around you, make you a better, more likable person to be with and you will feel a lot better yourself...and about yourself inside.
ReplyDeleteAvoid negative people, snooty ones, those that say and do things to hurt and humiliate you...do things that make you happy too - like indulging in good food once in a while.
Yes , negative folks can influence you. You can ask them to be positive and if not , try to stay away from them.
DeleteThe same thing happened to me last week.. I iron Kz's uniform every morning, and I swear I ALWAYS remember to switch it off.. But that day, I kept thinking "alamak, got swtich off or not", and couldn't work the whole morning.. Scared catch fire la, this that.. Ended up I took emergency leave (after I reach office), drive home again, and just to see the switch was turned off.. Wasted my leave..
ReplyDeleteIt's ok, at least you check and have a peace of mind rather than worry about it. Just take it positively, like give yourself a time off to relax without the monsters around.
Deleteyes trivial little things if not well managed then can cause big problems!! this is just what you mention in one of the comments in my blog, remember that?? haha!! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's what inspire me to write this post ....hahah
Deleteand yes, I think not only you but many of us may have this kind of thoughts.. sometimes it's little things like whether we switched off the appliances at home, sometimes it's about something on work, sometimes it's about something we didn't do like forgotten to buy something.. and there goes some "haunting" in the heart and mind, haha!! can be anxious for the whole day, only then at the end of the day we realize we think too much.. XD
ReplyDeleteYup,but the destructive ones are fears that may never happens and thinking negative about ourselves like saying i am not good , I am going to hell , I am not confident , I can't do it ...etc. All these thoughts will have a big impact on our well being. Just keep affirming I am good,I can do it , I am confident and pull thru and etc daily and make it a habitual thought.
Deletehehe, so your therapy is to have some good Japanese food huh?? expected lah, that would make you indulge in the food and forget everything huh?? hehe.. nice food and BTW I like that green tea cup, looks cool~~
ReplyDeleteHeheh... Of course la, japanese food is healthy somemore !!
DeleteOnce in a while we will tend to have negative thought but that keeps one stronger and most important by the end of the day one can overcome it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Japanese food.Haha
It's common to have negative once in a while, but irrational fears and habitual negative thinking has to be avoided and overcome.
Deleteyeah... oiishi!
Same as what Yee Ling mention, occasionally, i will think negative, but try to think positive lor...
ReplyDeleteyeah, and exercise can help!
DeleteI understand what you mean about the negative thoughts. It takes some effort to change the mind set to think more positively. If go eat Japanese food, sure will think positive hah..hah...
ReplyDeletePhong - Sometimes outside activities helps like vacation, exercise, join some social groups and etc. It keep us away from the bad thoughts!
DeleteAgree! Sometimes we need to unwind to chase away all the negative thoughts
DeleteLife is too short to be worrying too much, IMHO.
ReplyDeleteSeize the day!
lina - yes and a good run also helps to clear the mind!
DeleteOh yes, more salmon sashimi please!
ReplyDeletehahaha... the food blogger wants salmon sashimi!
DeleteKeep eating sushi and you won't have negative thoughts and will have a comfortable feeling of a full stomach
ReplyDeleteGot oiishi sushi , sure positive!
DeleteSame as SK, I also like the green tea cup, looks very nice
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's why I took a pix of it.
DeleteI agree with you, those minor and trivial things can linger in our heart and make us worry, sometimes for example I will worry whether I had made a certain call or whether I have done something I should do, and that can cause me to worry the whole day
ReplyDeleteyeah lor..past is past, no point thinking over it and break ourselves, It will turned into a monster and difficult to control later.
DeleteYes! I like your last sentence, think positive because in every bad situation there is something we can learn and there is always a solution
ReplyDeleteThat will propels us to stay out of the issues as soon as possible or at least, some damage control.
DeleteAnother thing that can linger in my heart is sometimes I have something to say to someone, but that person is not around, that thing and thought will linger in my heart until I tell that someone what I want to say then I will feel more comfortable, but this one is not negative thought
ReplyDeleteThat's to pour out your feelings.
DeleteYea, be positive and avoid any negative thoughts.
ReplyDeleteAnd travel more!!
DeleteThis is my motto and most bloggers know it by hard that I always say
ReplyDelete"We must control all situations and not let situation control us"
"Every problem in life has a solution"
Worry less dude, hair will keep dropping dei.
Yes dude and relax with a nice cuppa of good coffee.
DeleteYou make me want to eat chicken teriyaki don now!! Long time did not have Japanese food.
ReplyDeleteHmm. I used to worry about whether I lock the front door properly or not. Keep thinking till I cannot sleep. Lol. Now I feel stupid thinking back.
aiya....go eat la...hahahaha...
DeleteVery simple, just go out to the front door and make sure it's locked. We are habitual beings, sometimes we automatically or unconsciously do the same thing like locking the door or car, and we forgot if we really did it later.
It's been awhile we have japanese food. We always love ramen and udon. Nice post thanks for sharing with us
