I have been working late and missed some workouts for two days. Tried to wake up early at 6am for a run but thanks to the snooze button, I am back to the cold slumber. Thus, though I reached home at 8.30pm tonight, and started getting a little lazy and tired, I really felt uneasy without a workout. Thus, though I felt tempted to stay at home and moreover, with my mom and my nephews and nieces here during the school holidays, I managed to get myself out for a 11km run nearby my neighbourhood. And, I never felt so good after the run. I remember a quote from some running community in SG which says ' Your body will complain before and during a workout, but your body will thank you after the workout'... something like this. I guess the feel good hormones as well as prevention of certain diseases through exercise in the long run ( no guaranteed ah since I am not a doctor) is what that saying means. In addition to it, it makes us fitter and mentally sharper. I'm glad I managed to get my lazy bones out to run after idle for two days. And, the next half marathon is three weeks from now!
Since it's back to normal life and reality after all the holidays, I am also back to my usual meals. I had a simple Aglio Olio with bacon and a chicken soup yesterday. However, I had mom's home-cooked food tonight. :)
Have a good weekend and don't stop exercising! Your body will 'thank' you...LOL! Looking forward to next weekend too, where Friday is a holiday in Good Friday.
I guess the presence of the noisy nephew and nieces drove you to run far away for 11km. That was an amazing feat. I agree about feeling good after a rigorous exercise. Must have good food reward after that. Only Chris punya style. Lol
ReplyDeleteNo la...I love the presence of my nephews and nieces. Can bring them around and play with them. But I really needed a workout else I will be like a zombie the next day. It was not an easy run.... I gotta push myself to run and I also felt tired. Im glad I did it. :)
DeleteYou are right, your body will thank you after the work out, last time when I joined athletics during school time, I went for 2.4km jog and I feel so refreshed and rejuvenated after the jog, as if your body has changed to a new body
ReplyDeleteYes, you will always feel good after a run!
DeleteLovely pasta. I like aglio olio.
ReplyDeleteI usually had aglio olio...
DeleteI click snooze too in my alarm clock, but only for 10 minutes..The chicken cream soup looks very milky and creamy.. I wonder got chicken taste or not..
ReplyDeletehhaha...I clicked until I cannot afford to click where I gotta wake up. It's a bad habit. Mayb I start by running a shorter distance first where I don't have to wake up too early.
Deletegood for you for sticking to your run! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I hope I can be as discipline as you!
DeleteCertain day, i will have my workout, if i didn't workout, i will feel uneasy...
ReplyDeleteThat's common for people who workout regualarly!
DeleteI think I should go abck to workout pretty soon. Since last few months until now have yet to back to my Zumba yet... Busy
ReplyDeleteI think it's better you start back. Exercise has a lot of benefits to our well being, and do take some supplements like protein powder, multi-vitamins, Q10 and etc.
DeleteI got set back by a backache this week. Hope to recover soon and start my workout again hee..hee...
ReplyDeleteGet well soon,ya!
Deleteonce i wake up at 6am and get myself ready to hit the gym before going to work, indeed it was one of the most difficult things to do on earth to wake up so early, hahaha!! and true enough, before and during exercise it was a hard time, but after exercise i always feel good and refreshed, i don't feel tired at all at work.. of course now, cannot afford exercise before work lah, rather sleep more in the morning, hahaha!!
ReplyDeleteOh well, I tried this morning and failed again. Maybe I needed to sleep early. Sleeping at 12am and hoping to wake up at 6am seems ridiculous..hahaha...
DeleteAnyway, I tried running in the morning before and it's very refreshing!
Mom's homecooked is the best!
ReplyDeleteGood luck in your next marathon.
Thanks Rose!
DeleteSigh. I've not exercised for 2 weeks. Taking care of the sick kids really is taking a toll on me. I need to get out for some fresh air and a jog soon or I'll go bonkers :(
ReplyDeleteCan't help it la... family comes first! I would be like you too if my kids are sick but then, I will try to find some time to workout, at least 20 mins run also can. I will go bonkers too!
