If you are my facebook friend, you will noticed I usually posted my wefie with my colleagues once a week in our running attire. Well, I used to play badminton weekly after work and I have been doing that for the past eight years. However, since players are getting 'depleted' where some have left the company and no new players joining in, we decided to call it a day. It can be frustrating to have two or three players coming to play though we still love the game very much. Anyway, I might join another group later as I still love the game very much.
Thus, I decided to join another group of colleagues weekly to do some running at the East Coast Park. It was a nice place to run as it's windy by the beach as well as the running path is wide and long and lots of gorgeous young ladies folks were here to train for marathons or just leisure run. It connected all the way from Changi to Tanjung Rhu and then, Gardens by the Bay. Thus, I can run a marathon here ...hahaha... In fact, I ran my Sundown Half Marathon here last year! And, yes, I got a half marathon in early April and May, and I have already started my humble training.

Almost sunset ... nice to run with a beautiful view |
Due to time consuming as most of my colleagues have families , usually we will do 5KM (and they are fast, at a pace of 5 minutes+ which left me last or second last!) but sometimes I thought of doing longer runs like 10km - 15km. I am still checking out if there's any locker services there to keep my stuffs. There are shower facilities as well as good food all over the place, so no problem for my dinner. And, lots of cabs to ferry me back too, after a tiring run. For now, I do 5KM first la with my colleagues.
Oh.. I can't help having another nasi lemak chicken rendang and I am back to Tea Garden in JB last Sunday for the fix. I really love the chicken rendang, it's really tasty!
Weekend is around the corner, have a good rest! :)
This is on reclaimed land - used to be the sea and my friends and I would go swimming there way back in 1973.
ReplyDeleteNice-looking nasi lemak...except for the egg. They do not fry it well plus the egg in standard nasi lemak should be hardboiled. Oh? This is in JB, eh? The so-called "Singapore nasi lemak" I had here, the fried egg was also disappointing.
Yes, it's reclaimed land all the way to Marine Parade!
DeleteYup, always see your wefies with colleagues.. Eh, yummzz, the chicken rendang looks good.. Chicken thigh part? My favourite !!
ReplyDeletehahaha...it's becoming a ritual to take wefie before running!
DeleteYUp..the thigh part and I love the rendang!
That is a beautiful route to run...imagine running by the seaside! :)
ReplyDeleteNo such thing here in KL, it's all city scapes but I've seen people running on the roads when I drive out in the morning. I've always thought it's a bit dangerous to run on roads especially in a busy city though.
Yeah, this is one of the best place to run in SG. And, not just running only, got lots of activities here like bbq, restaurants, other spoorts, fishing, skating and etc.
DeleteYes I know, I noticed that from FB -wefie with your bunch of buddies. Enjoying a great meal together too. AWESOME!
ReplyDeletehahaha....we always do that!
DeleteAfter you have check it out, can plan for the 10km - 15km run ya, hehe...
ReplyDeleteYeah. hope so but I still prefer to run nearby home, maybe more convenient la..hahaha
DeleteIt's good you are keeping up with your marathon training. So you deserve to have that yummy plate of nasi lemak!
ReplyDeleteWell, we have to continue to exercise!!
Deletevery true.. if the gang is getting smaller and smaller then it can be quite demotivating also.. it's good that you found another group that you can join in and also mingle well with them.. hope you can find another badminton group and play badminton like you used to.. i guess badminton is still your favorite huh?? :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, after my two Half Marathons, I will try to join a group.
DeleteEast Cost Park, sounds familiar leh.. i think i used to pass by this place whenever i take a cab from Changi to the city center when i was with my ex-company.. didn't know it has so many nice facilities and linking so many places leh.. now, do we have something similar or close in Bolehland?? :p
ReplyDeleteYes, you will never miss this place if you are travelling to town from Changi.
Deletewah, your colleagues just used 5 minutes to complete the 5km run?? that is super fast!! or you mean 5 minutes per km?? fast or slow, at long as you are running and preparing yourself for the events you are going to take part later lor.. and after the run, you are craving for the nasi lemak or not?? hehehe.. go back JB then this nasi lemak is a must-eat?? :p
ReplyDeleteNot 5 mins but running at a pace of 5 mins plus. hahaha... That means they finished a 5KM run around 25 mins-30 mins.
DeleteJoin other group soon la. Else will hilang minat liao.
ReplyDeleteYeah, soon soon!
DeleteSuch a lovely view to run. I love beaches. We don't have that in the Klang Valley :(
ReplyDeleteKlang valley is an urban jungle unless you go to the coastal area.
DeleteWe used to go to East Coast Park for gatherings and barbecue
ReplyDeleteI did that too when I was younger.
DeleteIt is the right timing to prepare for the April/May run. Me too, preparing for my July run now. Hahaha! In fact, I never stop running. But my ankle started a week ago, seems like I need to run a bit slower to let it heals first.
ReplyDeleteYes, take it easy and don't over-work it.
DeleteBeautiful view of the sea. I love it!! And your nasi lemak too. Drooling over it actually.
ReplyDeletehahahha... I also drooled over it and that's why I had it!
DeleteI miss nasi lemak so much that I can't wait to order one in AA flight. Still not up to my taste, so the next morning got to settle another one at the local Malay stall. Hahah
ReplyDeletehahahha... of course la. Those in the flight definitely cannot compare to those at the stalls.
DeleteI love these areas of East Coast and Marine Parade areas! It looks a bit like California but not the ocean.
