Training hard ..

I thought of trying to run in the morning in preparation for my quarter marathon as I usually ran in the evening. I am not really a morning person as I woke up later than most of the working class since I am doing tele-working, where I can worked anywhere if there are no meetings in the office.

Anyway,  I'm glad I managed to wake up at 7am to practise my run for a long while in the morning, despite only slept for 5 hours plus. It was nice running in the cool and fresh air and I saw a lot of folks rushing for work and waiting for their buses. While running, I make a mistake in my route where I ran to the top of a small 'hill' park, which was three storeys high. Imagine I was huffing and puffing after reaching the top! Phew... I was glad I still managed to continue running for  a few rounds at the top of the park, which has a circle running track, before 'descending' down to my actual route and voila... I managed to do 6km at one go. That was around 42 mins. hahaha... I felt so good after the run though I needed isotonic drink after that and got sunburnt a bit.

Later, I rewarded myself with a yummy Chicken Ciabatta with fries when back to JB at Lavender Bistro. I always love their sandwiches, affordable and delicious!

My favourite Chicken Ciabatta in Italian Herbs and cheese

A cute Ginger-bread greeting you at Lavender Bistro
The marathon will be held in Dec 7, which is less than 2 weeks time and I have stepped up my training. Though I am not participating in a full marathon, it's still exciting to be running my first ever major marathon event. Oh yeah, this is the Standard Chartered Marathon. I am looking forward to a finisher medal and t-shirt. :)

  7. and I think running in the morning is actually better.. first it's more cooling than in the afternoon, second you won't be exhausted by a whole day's work and after run you indeed feel refreshed for the remaining of the day..

p/s: though getting up early is a problem!! haha :)

  13. What?! After your run , you ate that chicken ciabatta with fries?! All the fat burnt during your run comes right back! LOL! Unless you do high intensive interval training. Then you will burn all those fat after your run :)
