I never do movie reviews in my blog but after watching Independence Day: Resurgent, I was a little disappointed with the long awaited sequel (or they should stop at the first movie, for goodness sake!). The first one was so dramatic and good which I branded as one of the memorable movies I have ever seen together with Terminator 2, Titanic, Matrix, Star Wars, Aliens 2, Avengers 1, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, ET, Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Beautiful Mind and etc. I can re-watch these movies all over again after some time. I find ID:R is a bit ridiculous for the following (spoilers alert!) -

1. Though humans acquired alien technology from the last war, I don't think they can be so advance in 20 years. And, how can they lived happily with the scattered aliens  from the last war  roaming around ? Even kids can safely go around in their school bus!

2. There are too many characters in the movie and it's kinda messy. And, how come only USA and China fighting the war?

3. If the aliens can destroyed Earth by drilling and sucking the molten core, why don't they do it in the first movie?

4. The disaster scenes lasted only a short while with buildings going up and coming down (seems targeting London only) and this supposed to be a disaster movie!

5. The friendly Alien looks like my round speakers... a bit lame.

6. If the aliens are so intelligent, they need not unleased their Queen which is a single point of failure. Once the Queen died, all the aliens run away ...hahahahha... They could easily win the war by sending the hordes of aliens to retrieve that errr...ball.

7. Though the Alien queen died, the aliens are just 2 mins from success. They need not drop everything and run for their life!  If USA can appoint another President, why can't the intelligent and advance aliens have a backup plan should their Queen died? hahahaha..

9. And, no Will Smith...

Anyway, I love the CGI effect as well as the non-stopping actions in this movie which keeps you to the screen. Hope they do better in final trilogy. hahahaha... OK ok... don't suggest I apply for the Director role...LOL

Oh, it was a long wait at the CIQ due to Raya balik kampung last weekend and since it was late when I reached JB, I headed to Breeks at City Square for a good dinner.  And I had a combo set of Cajun fish and sirloin steak. It was awesome!

Have a nice weekend!

I downloaded a movie app from Microsoft Store called FreeFilms and I thought it was good! There were a lot of HD new movies like Deadpool, The 5th Wave and so on, but while searching thru the movie database, I found that classic Aliens and decided to watch it. Well, I like that horror sci-fi movie when I watched it during my early teens but during then, I didn't really grasp the details of the story line, like how long the heroine Ripley was in cryogenic from the prequel before she was rescued. So, by watching again these classics , I finally understand the details of the story.

I also watched many old movies over the years,  like Star Wars episode 4-6, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Back to the Future 1-3, Terminator 1 and 2, Matrix 1-3, Lord Of the Rings 1-3 and etc. , whenever I am free and it's kinda nice to understand the 'small details' of these movies when I watched again and which I could have missed out when watching in the past.

It was raining almost daily lately and though I welcome it, the afternoon rain seems too long and it rained till the evening, which has affected my training. With the Sundown HM on next Sat night and without much training except some short 5K runs in the gym, I guess I will just enjoy the run and forget about improving my pathetic personal best (PB) timing..hahaha.. After a 5KM run on a cold rainy night in the gym, I decided to have something warm - Ginseng Chicken Soup at Seoul Garden's Hotpot.

It comes with a bowl of rice, some vegetables like kimchi and prickles and boiled chicken drumstick in the soup. It's not really cheap as this cost me S$22 but I seems addicted to it. Well, since the Ramen restaurant has closed down at the nearby mall, perhaps it's time to embrace Korean food.

Have a nice mid-week!

Oh...it's Friday and also my last day of work before my week-long vacation!! wooohoo...  I will be around Malaysia and won't be going overseas, thus will try to comments on your posts. Btw, 2015 excites me on the silver screen where there are a few blockbuster which I am looking forward to watch. Well, though I didn't blog about movies, I am very much a movie buff and most of the time, I will go alone for a late night show at a cinema very near to my home on week nights. I also usually go for movies where it has been shown for a while to avoid the crowds and relaxed on an almost empty cinema hall.

Here are the movies which I can't wait to watch ....

Avengers 2 - Age of Ultron

Star Wars : The Force Awakens

Terminator Genisys

And, not forgetting the new James Bond movie, Spectre, Prometheus 2, Superman v Batman and ...did I mentioned 50 Shades of grey ? hehehe...  Meanwhile, I had a chicken ciabatta last Saturday in Lavender, JB and will be going for it again. I simply love that piece of chicken meat in the ciabatta which was treated with italians herbs and fresh fries. Also, not forgetting my cuppa of Americano too!
