1. Not a good weekend as when I reached home, my wife looks pale and tired while my little princess having a fever. Asked my wifey what happened to her and she said she's ok but the next day, I gotta sent both of them to the clinic. Both were sick with throat infections. Luckily my sis in law was with them till I came back. Anyway, they have recovered and feeling much better now. Thus, the weekend was home-bound except I went to the church as I have ushering duties.
2. It was a joy to see my kids enjoying themselves in their enrichment classes beside their school education. My little princess just finished a year of ballet and went for an international exam, assessed by a caucasian lady. The results will be out in August, and she's enjoying her ballerina very much.
3. My son too, has attended his third badminton classes and set a goal to represent his school. I told him to set a goal so that he can aim to improve his game. Initially, he told me he wanted to beat this student and that student whom he has lost to, but I told him to aim higher. This will also motivates him for the tough training. It do looks tough to me when I saw him trained but that will only strengthened his mind and body. My wifey applies some heat rub onto his legs and shoulders every time after his training. LOL
4. Whenever I saw my kid trains for badminton, I was also tempted to join in as they have a class for adults but too bad, it is held during weekdays which I definitely cannot make it. Anyway, sports training usually starts from young, as the saying goes, 'Never teach an old dog new tricks'. hahaha.... I think I run better la.
5. And , mentioning about running, I was a bit nervy as so far, I have only completed 11KM in training and was already tired, though I tried to run slow. I am not sure how will I fared in the half-marathon in July!! I plan to run 12KM this week and gradually increased it. Of course, there are times where its our off-day like today, I even struggle to finish a 5KM run due to too much rest over the weekend. The comforting news is they allocated 4.5 hours to finish a HM which I think that's possible for me.
6. I am looking forward to this weekend as it is a long weekend, though Vesak day in SG only falls on 30 May. Nevertheless, I feel like bringing my family around as my kids will have a long break.
Again, it's been a long week since we had Japanese food and we are back to the same restaurant. I also ordered the same Sushi Udon set.
|
My favorite sake maki |
|
My kids' favorite sushi - Ebiko and Kani. |
|
Some vegetables ordered by my wifey which comes with a set of rice and miso soup, since she's recovering from her illness. |
|
A Teriyaki Salmon set shared by my kids |
|
My plain Udon soup |
|
And, my 4 pieces of assorted sushi |
This will be a short working week and I am sure everybody looking forward to the weekend. Have a great week!
Last time, during secondary school days, I was quite good in badminton and as I said, it was last time, LOL
ReplyDeleteLibby - Oh, you should contd playing. There are some open groups out there in SG who played regularly.
DeleteGlad the ladies are getting better. You do not commute daily? So you only get to see the family once a week? Oh dear! Bet the kids miss their father figure...and must be tough in your missus handling everything on her own and I'm sure all week, you're missing them too.
ReplyDeleteSTP- Not daily, maybe twice or once a week. Yeah, tough for her but my sil always there la.
DeleteSpeedy recovery to your wifey and princess.. Yep, "sick time" again, weather so hot.. My weekends are usually home-bound too, except to the mil's place and my mum's place, hehe..
ReplyDeletePrincess - Yeah, me too, got a throat infection today. Need to see doc tomorrow.
Deleteaiyoh, hope your wife and daughter are recovered by now.. must be the weather and probably the hectic life having to go to school and then all kinds of classes after school?? luckily your SIL was there to take care..
ReplyDeleteSK - They are getting better now I am the one who caught it now. Anyway, it's mild and I can still workout and go to work.
Deletegreat to know that your two children are coping well and enjoying their enrichment class and badminton class, and it's a nice thing to set goals for them, that would be some motivation to them.. hope they will get good results, and not only representing the school but mother country in the future!! :)
ReplyDeleteSK - aiya...don't think so far la. This is more of taking away their focus from academic lessons and let them relax while building them up on other aspects. For example, sports like badminton can build muscles, endurance, confidence and etc, and so do ballet. I am lacking these activities when I was a kid.
Deletetake it easy and don't over-stress yourself.. I think probably it's not how far you have run but how you keep yourself active and prepared for the run.. haha!!! said is always easier than done for an outsider?? xD
ReplyDeleteSK - yeah, taking it easy ..... I think should be ok la..hahaha
Deleteanother "long week since we we had Japanese food"?? hahaha.. I thot you just said the same thing in the previous post, or did I remember wrongly?? anyway I like the salmon teriyaki, looks good!!!
ReplyDeleteSK - hahaha.... 1 week is long!
DeleteHope both of them are fine now. Normally I will go for ramen instead of udon or soba. Udon is just too plain for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks Yee Ling ... they are feeling better now.
DeleteIs sick period recently, better take care ya! =]
ReplyDeleteXiao YIng - yeah, the flu bug is spreading!
DeleteSpeedy recovery to your wife and daughter...
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon.
DeleteSpeedy recovery to yr girl and wifey. Take care. Have a break..

DeleteIt's good that yoru kids are active in extra-curricular activities. Enjoy the long weekend with them!
ReplyDeletePhong - Its something good to build up their EQ,rather than just study, study and study ....
DeleteYou enjoy the long weekend too!
I also look forward to the long weekend.
ReplyDeleteGlad everyone is fine and recovered. Your kids are doing well in their respective activities.
Yea, the quintessential japanese meal LOL
ReplyDeleteMany people fell sick lately, don't know it's the virus or the weather or what...
ReplyDeleteOh ya, it's a long weekend soon! I also look forward to that, hehe!
DeleteHave a great week ahead~
Good to hear your family are recovered now.
ReplyDeleteAll the best with your training.

must be the hot weather. drink more water and take more vit c.
ReplyDeleteOh, gee. I'm dying for Japanese food now, especially after looking at the pictures of your meal, Chris. Please do take care and try to stay away from the heaty food.
ReplyDeleteIt's never too late to start learning a new sport. I used to play badminton socially when I was younger and loved the game. Yes, it'll take a longer time to learn the tricks of the game, but you'll be able to succeed eventually. =)
Hello Japanese man!! Did your son ask you to spam harder and aim the Top Spot in SK's blog? Muahahahaha
