Well, schools has restarted and it was a quiet last Saturday night for me as my wifey and the kids have to sleep early due to the new weekends in JB. It was pro and con as I can enjoyed my Saturday nights soccer on my Unifi tv, but then a day is wasted spending time with the family. I really miss the old Sat and Sun weekends in JB where Sat is always spent driving around to nearby towns, malls, theme parks and etc. I am sure a lot of parents working in the private sector who were off on Saturdays and Sundays agreed with me too.
Meanwhile, to ease the blues, we had Japanese food last weekend, as the kids love it. We were back at Umatei restaurant in Permas Jaya.

My bento which consists of agedashi tofu, salmon, teriyaki chicken and edamane |
|
My kids bento - edamane, vegetables, salmon and salad. |
|
makis for all to share |
|
MY wifey's favorite temakis |
|
As well as her favourite 'popiah' rolls... |
Have a good weekend!
JB new weekends are Friday and Saturday is it? Correct me if I am wrong
ReplyDeleteLibby - It's Friday and Saturday.
DeleteWhat? "...a day is wasted spending time with the family..."!!! I bet you do not mean what you said. A day is never wasted, spending time with one's family. Tsk! Tsk! But yes, that weekend system is such a nuisance - same in Kedah where my girl was...once.
ReplyDeleteOh...I get what you mean. You could have spent the day with your family but with the system, you cannot...so the day is wasted just like that. True! True! Glad they do not have that here. I also hate it when they have replacement lessons on Saturdays. One day, precious quality time with the family gone!
DeleteSTP - aiyo ..I am blur by what you said in your first comment. Yes, it's a damn nuisance!!
DeleteLike the last weekend, I only had Sat with the kids and they have to be home early for the morning school.
Over here, things are 'bz'.. The jam, oh dear, terrible!! Wana cry thinking of it.. During school holidays, I reach work in 15 minutes, but now, I reach in 1 hour!
ReplyDeletePrincess - Jams are usual in KL la...
Deleteit takes some getting use to la. after some time will be ok kot
ReplyDeletekucing - Already got used to it but still loves the old weekend. Sometimes, it's ridiculous the majority, private sector, are working on the old weekend while the schools and govt depts are operating on the new weekend.
Deletehaha the very first "weekend" blues for the students as well as the parents?? hmm true also lah, when everyone gets a rest on Sundays the kids go to school~~ @.@
ReplyDeleteSK - Shopping malls full of people as well as kids in school on Sunday ... hahaa... @-@
Deleteyou said "the kids love Japanese food"?? haha, actually I wonder if you really meant the kids or yourself only?? hehehehe :p
ReplyDeleteSK - All la... hehehe
Deletewah, very nice bento and i think the portion is just right, not too much and not too little.. and those sushi and temaki also looks delicious.. good choice!! :)
ReplyDeleteSK - Yes, I love bentos!
Deleteohh.yes the new weekend in JB. No worries it surely takes up some time to adjust the new routine.
ReplyDeleteYee Ling - Already adjust but it's still no good.
DeleteWell, enjoy the coming weekend anyway! Haha
ReplyDeletelina - :)
DeleteWhen the new weekend starts in JB, was checking with a JB friend who has two young kids schooling, she mention difficult to arrange family time, as one of her kid, the weekend (fri & sat), another kid, the weekend reminds as sat & sun, and her hubby working in Singapore, wanna go family outing also quite hard to arrange...
ReplyDeleteSharon - It's also my situation!!!
DeleteMy son go to school on Sun and off on Fri , while my daughter still in kindy ... follows the sat and sun off.
DeleteIt is really a nuisance this changing of weekends, Will take some time to adjust to it. Someone I knew in JB missed a filing deadline because she forgot that Friday is a weekend.
ReplyDeletePhong - hahaha... well...what to do ....
DeleteWeekends always start with Japanese food eh? :p
