Well, my vacation seems pass so fast and a week has already over and I am back in Singapore now. Five days seems very short despite I took weeks to plan for this vacation, though it's just in Malaysia. That's also a reminder to me that time is precious! haha... Anyway, glad to be back and I miss my morning coffees here. hahah..
Anyway, it's quite a pleasant vacation as I was in KL to bring my kids to Kidzania last Tuesday. They really enjoyed themselves there and so do my wifey and I. I shall blogged about it later. We went to Cameron Highlands on Wednesday and it's really been a decade more since I last went uphill there. There are really a lot of changes in a decade and I beginning to like this place even more. To me, its so much better than Genting. Cameron is so happening now with lots of cafes and there's even a Starbucks there at Tanah Rata.
And, it's even better where my sis in law;s friend has a relative there as well as a plantation, so voila, we got a free local tour guide!! Before going around, after a winding journey, we were brought to the plantation and took a land rover to cruise to the top of a hill which was full of plantations and vegetables. That was my first time and it seems dangerous as those non-tar and narrow paths can be quite steep, but then nothing can stop a land rover..hahha...

The hill of plantations ! |

Vegetables!! |
|
On top of a hill 'in a mountain '.... We took a land rover all the way up and got a great view of all the plantations there ! |
|
At the hill, an orchard of flowers |
|
I don't what this flower is called but thats what they planted there. On a good day, I heard one stalk can fetch RM5. And imagine there are so many there!! |

Other plantations |

Yours truly selfie with my little princess |

These 'moss' that sticked to the mountain side. I always read in hiking blogs that when you reached a certain level of height, you will see some mossy forests, which is like a fairy forest .Stuffs like these will sticked to the trees and hills.

Before that, we were at the well known Lata Kinjang where we stop for a while. |
|
The winding road with lots of stalls there. |

Nature is indeed beautiful! |

Family portrait |
We stayed overnight and left on Thursday. It seems a 2 days, 1 night trip is not sufficient where 3 days/2 nights is better. I shall blog more about this trip in my next post.
Nice scenery and I like your family photo, by the way I went CH in March 2013 and I also enjoyed the trip, I also been to their night market aka pasar malam
ReplyDeleteLibby - yeah , I also went to their passe malam. It was great.
DeleteYeah time flies when we are having a good time. Saw all your pics in fb and I know you're having a wonderful time with your family, especially the kids..
ReplyDeletePrincess - it's wonderful but I would prefer an overseas trip.
DeleteYou went Cameron? Ok, now? After all the floods and the landslides. I love the place too...but it does not sound very safe anymore.
ReplyDeleteSTP - floods and landslides occurred at another place. That's the problem with the newspapers. Once reported, people thought everywhere affected. It's very safe but of course , drive carefully while.going up.
Deletehahaha, what is so surprising huh?? the happy times during your vacation sure seemed to fly more quickly.. a 5-day week of holiday is surely like 5 seconds, while a 5-day week of work is surely like 5 years!! agree?? :D
ReplyDeleteSK - sigh. ...anyway , I still got 2.long weekends to look forward to. :)
Deleteso nice you brought your kids to Kidzania and i am sure they enjoyed the place very much huh?? and surely you also brought them to go shopping in the always-packed-during-year-end malls in KL/PJ area.. so, you bought them nice Christmas presents there??
ReplyDeleteSK - only kidzania as by the time we are done ,the malls are closed but we still managed to shop on the last day before we come back.
Deleteah, Cameron Highlands!! indeed it is a nice place to go.. a cooling (though not as cooling as it used to be now) place that you can see lots of greens and plantations as well as breath in fresh air, oh, waterfall too!! yeah, 2D1N could be a little too rush, 3D2N should be better, but i have never done that~~ :(
ReplyDeleteSK - you should go then , it's so much different now.
DeleteTime goes by very fast when you are having fun. Those flowers are Anthuriums. I used to have one or two pots in my garden but sadly all died. It's good that you had a wonderful time with your family!
ReplyDeletePhong -oh yeah , it's called anthuriums. My wife told me before.
DeleteUsually during vacation, time flies very fast...
ReplyDeleteSharon -yeah lor :(
DeleteSo are you feeling more rejuvenated after the trip? :)
ReplyDeleteYou sure had fun with the family.
Lina - yeah, I think so. Felt much better.
DeleteLovely vacation especially getting connect with the nature. The Qi is more rejuvenating.
ReplyDeleteYee ling - that's very deep .... haha...anyway, it's refreshing !
DeleteThe only tihng i enjoy about Cameron Highlands will be the chilly weather!
ReplyDeleteKen - of course and besides that, there's also the plants, strawberries , jogging track, hiking, pasar, food and beautiful english style buildings.
DeleteNow you made me miss CH! Haha. You did stopped by the waterfall? Good for you. We did not do so.
ReplyDeleteRose - Hahah.... I remember some posts by other bloggers also make me miss CH last time.
DeleteBeautiful nature and so refreshing. I've not been to CH for ages. Am always afraid of the winding roads.
ReplyDeleteMerryn - CH is so much better than GH. Take the new highway from ipoh but travel further north.
DeleteLooks like you had a great family vacation!!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and family!
Beautiful photos mate! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Cameron Highlands in a very long time, haven't seen the new and trendy developments in cafes and such. I think I'll still eat at the traditional steamboat places though. I love eating steamboat in Cameron's coz there's free vegetables and they're so fresh! Haha.
