After a workout with weights and a short 3KM run on a rainy Monday night , I thought of Shoyu Ramen since it's a cold night. Thanks to
SK's post again on his Japan travelogue last week where he mentioned the Shoyu (Soy) Ramen. I usually had the Miso Ramen , thus I was curious to find out about this ramen. It seems the Shoyu Ramen came in different varieties, including hot and spicy, but I ended up ordered the Shoyu Tonkotsu (pork bone) Ramen. The broth was darker in colour compared to other ramen.

After I have stirred the soup to check out the ingredients |
It came with two slices of chashu which I can top-up to five pieces but I didn't , a piece of seaweed and a boiled egg. The broth was nice and I really don't know how to describe the broth since I am not a food critic but it did leave a nice after-taste, just like when you had a bottle of chicken essence. I was lucky to have a nice ramen restaurant near by place. :) The Ramen shop was Men-ichi Ramen at Northpoint Shopping Centre.
Kam ngam geh prince, it was raining too justnow.. And I'm awake now coz Kz was not feeling well, making noises now and then.. Whatever ramen, I dont pay attention to the names, I just pay attention to the meat inside and finish all the soup haha..
ReplyDeletePrincess - you mean it's raining in KL too ? Haha...I guess you are hungry , so just finish everything.
DeleteDont you feel thirsty after eating ramen? I do hence I dont eat them often :(
ReplyDeleteMerryn - yup, very thirsty and I workout somemore before that.
DeleteOk. I can't tell one from the other. The flat black thing is seaweed, I know but what's the other one, the one that's slightly purplish? The egg sure is perfect. No pork ham or bacon with a thin layer of fat? I would love that.
ReplyDeleteStp - there are pork ham or chashu inside, the white thing in the 2nd picture.
Deletewow, such a great reward to yourself after a good workout in the gym!! ramen ramen ramen!!!
ReplyDeleteSk - I always make it a point to reward myself for a job well done !
Deleteso nice they have got all sorts of ramen available in the shop.. so you are going back again to try them all?? hehe~~
ReplyDeleteSk - lol..I always eat there, so it's a matter of time. However, I dislike spicy ramen.
Deleteyours look more milky maybe bcos it's tonkotsu and mine just shoyu and fish.. looks good!! and next time add more chasiu, hehe..
ReplyDelete"Shoyu Ramen Onegaishimasu" :)
Sk - cannot add too many chashu, can get fat easily.
DeleteYah, you deserve a treat after a workout :)
ReplyDeletePhong -yeah...always reward yourself !

ReplyDeleteHayley - :)
DeleteI always loves the egg in the Ramen...
ReplyDeleteSharon - The eggs are delicious !
DeleteNorthpoint Shopping Centre? Actually you Are SG-ian or JB-ian? I got an ex-colleague working in Avago, she told me about this ramen shop, she said no taste one compared to Penang food. Although I think partly is due to her being Penang people, hard to please when they work elsewhere, everything must taste like Penang.
ReplyDeleteReal gunners -Not really , their food was great ! Maybe your friend's standard very high loh...haha...I travel between SG and JB.
DeleteAt first I was thinking what is the black black thing in the soup.... then after looking closely "oh it's the ladle". Wah the ladle looks really seasoned, used a lot!
ReplyDeleteBaby sumo -You are a food expert, sure can recognise.:)
DeleteAiyoyo! That black thing looked so fuuny and ugly! It took me a while to get my guesses correct that it was seaweed. Yeah thanks to SK's blog too and he lured me to eat at Sakae Sushi twice!!
ReplyDeleteMouthwatering.
