20.8.13

After we left Zenxin and fetch my sis-in-law, we decided to visit the park at the foot of Gunung Lambak. This mountain was very popular in Kluang and even Singaporeans where lots of folks came over here to hike.
The guide leading to the peak as well as a nearby peak and alternative routes
I heard from most of the folks who have been here and it's not really that tough to hike but then, let's not overestimate it. I never really hike much today as it was late but manage to go around at the foot of the mountain. Anyway, I plan to hike up to the peak soon.

A hanging bridge

At the beginning of the trail, there was a cement path as a 'warm up'. However, the path will be replaced by natural  terrain after a short while.

A tiny waterfall here...

Strange looking branch ...

Shelter for folks to rest...

Here's the short hanging bridge again
I guess I will be hiking up this mountain soon. I heard that it took around 1 hour to reach the peak.

Century old 'hanging bridge', still strong enough for bikes!
I was at Sg. Lembing, which was a village near Kuantan, last weekend and was looking forward to the hike up Panorama Hill. Though it was not a high hill (according to Pahang Tourism Board website, it's around 400m), finally I got to hike. The place was also made well-known by the Mediacorp-NTV7 serial, 'Kampong Ties'.

We stayed overnight at one of the resorts in the village and woke up at 5am and started the hike at 5.30am in order to catch the 'sea of clouds'. Though the hill was not high and you can see lots of folks hiking up in the early morning by climbing the flight of stairs, the initial climb was quite steep. Anyway, most of the folks managed to reach the peak. It will usually took around 45 mins to reach it for typical folks.

Beautiful work of nature

Another view.... love the scenery

Sg.Lembing town was a nice getaway from the stress of city life. The life here is slow and unhurried. I was enjoying the sounds of nature while resting outside the resort for almost an hour. It was really calming.

The place where we found some delicacies  ... sugary biscuits

The main street of Sg. Lembing. The left was the market.

The tradematk tree

Quiet but peaceful place

The ex- tin mining town was kinda deserted since the closure in 1986 but the village seems flourishing into a tourism resort.

That's the hill we hiked , on the left. I was enjoying this scenery at the resort.
There are other attractions like the rainbow waterfall and nearby Gua Charas. However, we didn't check these places out and headed to Teluk Chempedak.

Since I have been a bit 'bo liao' lately and still mountain hiking crazy (though haven't found kakis yet), I decided to check out various mountains that are 'hike-able' and came across this terrain google map of Malaysia.

And, now I ...err...realised why Ipoh got so many mountains and hills...it is surrounded by the Kledang mountain range on the left and majestic Titiwangsa range on the right. haha... I never realise that Ipoh is in between two mountain ranges though I was born here and used to the many exotic caves and hills here, till I left the place (and wonder why some places especially JB and Singapore don't have that many hills...:P). I have been too, developed an awareness in certain famous mountains as I have been googling hike-able hills and mountains... hahaha....

To outsiders, if you are at Kinta City(Jusco), you will see the main mountain range of Titiwangsa to the east and the Kledang hill range on the west.

Ok, now I am beginning to sounds like a kid... :P Good, young at heart!!
