This seems to be a quiet weekend as my kid has replacement classes last Saturday. Well, since Johor implemented the new weekend on Friday and Saturday, I realised most of our weekend short retreats and outings has been drastically reduced. We used to travel to Kluang, Legoland, Hello Kitty/Little Big club town, Desaru, Kukup, Tg Piai or even Melaka and Seremban but now left with only running errands at the malls. Thus, I have to wait for school or public holidays to go a bit farther.

It was a rainy Sunday and since my wife and little princess needed to attend a baby fullmoon tea reception later, we had a simple lunch at a nearby Lavender Bistro. This time round, I am surprise my little princess opted for her strawberry short cake where she ordered it herself by telling the waiter. LOL...

I think I am not really that adventurous in food and most of the time I will ordered back my favourite food at the same restaurant. This is my favourite Cheddar Cheese and Ham sandwich.

And my Americano.
Have a good week, folks!

It has been a long weekend for me as I was on leave last Friday. Well, nothing grand over the weekend but I thought of spending more time with my kids, especially my son, who has replacement class on Saturday, while Sunday is his usual school day. As usual, we went to the malls to run our errands and most of the time, I will take an opportunity for a good coffee break. This time round, I had coffee with my little princess while my wifey get some stuffs with my kid.

First thing first ...selfie with my princess

As usual, she picked her favourite strawberry slice cake. The cake design seems change a bit from triangular to rectangular. However, it's still soft , delicious and lots of strawberry slices.
Halfway done with her cake ....

I also got myself my favourite sandwich too, ham and cheddar cheese ciabatta with fries. It's just nice for a coffee break, not too full and light. The fries were good too! I can smell 'potato' here compared to those in fast food chain, where it's the smell of the oil used to fried it.

And, lastly not forgetting my cup of Americano.
Have a good week, folks!

REST! That's a very important thing to do during weekends, whether you have been working hard in office, exercising hard at the gym over the last few days, charity work, cleaning the house, cooking for the family and etc for the past week. Today I woke up late and nap again about 4pm after running my errands as well as lunch with family. Nothing beats having a good sabbatical rest day on a Sunday after a week of work in office, gym , blogging and studying. And, it was so refreshing after the rain! I had a short , relaxing slow jog of about 2KM near home. It's always good to keep a day just for rest.

I was at Lavender Bistro for lunch today before we start doing our shopping for groceries. I am glad Lavender has restored back some of their meals in the menu especially the mushroom and egg fried rice, which was my kids' favourite.

Fried Egg and Mushroom Rice - My wifey had this with my little princess

Strawberry short cake again for my little princess

The expression on the face give all away on how delighted she was!

Ham and Cheese Ciabatta with fries - That's what I had for lunch today and it's my favorite meal too. Light and delicious.

And, not forgetting an Americano for both my wife and myself
Thus, remember to put aside a day to rest .... just do nothing but rest and rest ..... and enjoy recreation!

I think I had a good long weekend over the Labour Day holidays. I worked from home on last Wednesday and had dinner at home where my wife cooked, instead of my usual eating outside after work. The weekend was well-spent though it's the usual routines like shopping and cari makan.  However, I always realised that I seldom helped out on house-work and over the last weekend, I really did a lot like washing the plates after meals, boiled water, cleaning up and vacuuming the floor. And, not forgetting the fun part, bathing the kids. On top of that, I also drove my sis in law to enquire about her new car and helping her out with some IT stuffs. I guess the best part was really helping out. The Saturday evening church service was great though it was raining heavily but refreshing!! It was also my kid's return to the church school after a month.

Thus on last Sunday, I rewarded myself with a nice tea time at Lavender Bistro. My son was at school thus we brought our little princess along. And she had her favourite strawberry short cake again!

It looks yummy and was really yummy...!! Lots of strawberries in the slice of cake.
My wife and I shared some kaya toasts. It was freshly toasted and was crunchy! The pandan kaya makes the toast even nicer!!

Kaya Toasts - Light enough for a refreshing break
As for me, I had my usual coffee, and I ordered a cappuccino this time round.  I noticed Lavender has changed their cup and the size seems smaller but the coffee remains fine.

My cuppa of cappuccino
Have a good week, folks!

I took a day off last Friday in order to accompany and drove my wife to Seremban for the 'Ching Ming' festival. Before the trip, I also needed to collect my new specs and we reach Aeon Tebrau City very early, barely around 10am and it was not even opened yet. This was the first time I waited for the shopping centre to be opened...LOL. We were that early cos we just sent our kids to their tuition centre and kindergarten.

Since I needed to wait another 30mins for my specs to be ready, I decided to have breakfast at Lavender. I used to eat there regularly for breakfast many years ago where I love the typical American style breakfast of eggs, sausages, ham, bread....etc with a nice cup of Americano. However, their menu seems changed recently and there was no more this type of breakkie but replaced with something...err... i guess more classy breakfast sets. (and more expensive)

Two cups of Americano for both of us ... it's pak tor time with wifey

My wife had a ham and cheese ciabatta set

I had a sausage foccacia set , with omelette filling. It was very full!!

The shopping mall was quiet and it's a great time to shop and walk around, unlike the evenings. And, it was a peaceful and quiet breakfast too, with only 2-3 tables occupied. I love the relaxing environment there at that hour.

This is my first post in November and I am glad I finally blogged. It was a busy start to the month but I feel great to have a spent a pleasant weekend with my family. Lazing around in a cafe with good food and spending a long time there was a great idea. At least, it helps to wind down and feel the bliss of a sabbatical Sunday. We were at Lavender bistro this afternoon for a late lunch cum tea. The kids were having a good time snacking on cookies after their meals while I enjoyed their free wifi.

My wifey had a char kway teow ... it tasted good. Cost around RM12.

My two kids shared a teriyaki salmon rice. This cost us RM20 but the portion was quite big. They can't even finished it and I need to come in ..to eat..

I had a simple cheese and ham ciabatta ,, which was my favourite.

And, the meal was not complete without a cuppa of Americano!
I always love to spend the weekend afternoon in a bistro and wind down and I guess that's how weekend are spent. I had a good coffee and surf the net while my kids shop for their cookies and buns in Lavender, before going around the mall.

Have a great week.
