A day in Sekinchan....

Most of the folks never really heard of this peaceful little town, until a local chinese drama, The Seeds Of Life, was aired on NTV7. In fact, I didn't watch this drama till my wifey told me about it. Visitors started pouring in to this peaceful town and which is a boon to the seafood eateries there! The place was somewhere north of Kuala Selangor and can be access via the coastal trunk.

What I got attracted to this town was the beautiful and massive yellow and green paddy fields! It greets you as you're entering the town and you will never failed to catch a glimpse of the massive fields unless it's night time. The best thing is, you can get as close as you like to the paddy fields! I saw some folks even plucked the paddy plants out and started savouring the paddy. Wonder how to eat it since it's so hard and not cook!
So serene!

close-up view of the paddy plants!
massive chunks of paddy fields around here!
Never had been so close to the paddy fields!
guess the irrigation here is very deep!
heard that this factory was used as one of the filming location for the drama

family portrait with my lovely wife and kids!
We drove to the other side of Sekinchan, heading to the seaside. This makes Sekinchan special, a town which planted paddy fields but yet a fishing village. You can have a good view of medium size fishing boats as well as seafood factories while driving in. Go deeper inside and you will reached the breezy seaside. Lots of folks there enjoying the breeze while some are fishing. There are countless seashells at the beach and my kids having a good time collecting it!
