I really thought it's a good idea to bring the kids closer to nature and Zenxin Organic Park in Kluang, which is kids' friendly, was a good choice! My kid was asking me to bring him there to join the short tour around the park and I thought why not, as I only needed to spend around  RM5-8 for the tour for each person. It's so much cheaper compared to those theme parks. :P  My little princess was given free access too. And, walking around under the sun and seeing the greens are way much better than seeing whatever on the ipad.

The kids really enjoyed themselves there as  they got goodies bags, free ice-creams, running around without worried about vehicles, cycling, get themselves sweaty and dirty, beautiful scenery, free snacks as well as get to feed bunnies and fishes. As for adults, it's kinda relaxing getaway and we really  got closer to nature. Though the weather was hot,  I had a great time over there. I have been there for many times to shop but didn't really went inside the farm.

I had a relaxing trip in Sg Lembing, though it's just a 2 day 1 night stay. We moved on to nearby Kuantan and to your surprise, this is the first time I landed on Kuantan. Well, I felt at home once I reached Kuantan, probably it could be due to the fact the folks there are a cantonese speaking community. We ate at two restaurants and noticed something...all their servings were big, whether it's vegetables, fish or meat!

Anyway, it's a great place to be around and I especially love Teluk Chempedak. That place was kinda special, with lots of eateries and restaurants by the beautiful beach. The current, as usual, are strong since this is the South China Sea. That place seems to be beautified and renovated as it looks very new and clean. I like that McDonald's over there, the design was great and open!

Look at the rocks here!!

Beautiful sea at Teluk Chempedak!

That's a nice beach!

Family Portrait... my princess looks quite down as her balloon just burst!

Big big massive rocks!

It's really relaxing looking at the seaside here!
It's a nice place here to wind down and picture taking! Anyone want to be my model? :D

Century old 'hanging bridge', still strong enough for bikes!
I was at Sg. Lembing, which was a village near Kuantan, last weekend and was looking forward to the hike up Panorama Hill. Though it was not a high hill (according to Pahang Tourism Board website, it's around 400m), finally I got to hike. The place was also made well-known by the Mediacorp-NTV7 serial, 'Kampong Ties'.

We stayed overnight at one of the resorts in the village and woke up at 5am and started the hike at 5.30am in order to catch the 'sea of clouds'. Though the hill was not high and you can see lots of folks hiking up in the early morning by climbing the flight of stairs, the initial climb was quite steep. Anyway, most of the folks managed to reach the peak. It will usually took around 45 mins to reach it for typical folks.

Beautiful work of nature

Another view.... love the scenery

The flight of stairs
Sg.Lembing town was a nice getaway from the stress of city life. The life here is slow and unhurried. I was enjoying the sounds of nature while resting outside the resort for almost an hour. It was really calming.

The place where we found some delicacies  ... sugary biscuits

The tradematk tree

Quiet but peaceful place

The ex- tin mining town was kinda deserted since the closure in 1986 but the village seems flourishing into a tourism resort.

That's the hill we hiked , on the left. I was enjoying this scenery at the resort.
There are other attractions like the rainbow waterfall and nearby Gua Charas. However, we didn't check these places out and headed to Teluk Chempedak.

On a lighter note, I know Yong Peng did produce a lot of pastries and bicsuits but I didn't know they also famous for 'heong peh'. Well, I really don't know which term to use to describe this pastry, whether its kompia, don't know what 'sou' in canto, pia as my Indonesians colleagues called it and etc. They sold it at one of the express bus rest stops near the NS highway.

One of the stalls there
The good thing is they baked the pastry there and it's fresh from the oven. I sample all their three flavours, lotus, yam and 'tau sar' and they were really good. Anyway, its still fresh and hot. Besides that, they also sold siew pow and pineapple tarts.

I bought all the three flavours and even after a few days, the pastries were still nice, though not as crunchy as before when it was fresh from oven. OK, now I got more options to buy 'heong peh' , besides Ipoh and Penang.

Finally I visited Johor Premium Outlets after its official opening on 11 Dec 2011. Located at Kulai and can be seen at the NS Highway, this one and only premium shopping area in South East Asia really attracted lots and lots of crowd over the Christmas weekend! I love the place, it's open and outdoor compared to those typical shopping malls. I think it's big too as my feet were really tiring while I gaze at the branded stuffs from shops to shops. Well, I gotta myself quite a good bargain, a skecher sports shoes sold at RM518 outside for RM399 here. My wifey also got a handbag.

This is the view from the entrance

The Burberry sign looks very prominent while coming in...
I took the old trunk road from JB to Kulai via Senai and although the distance was not too far, it was not easy initially to locate the place. Senai was quite jam too due to road constructions. Following directions from their website, where after McDonalds Restaurant, we turned left and headed to Inderapura Jaya. We turned at 9 o'clock after the second roundabout and reach JPO not far away. For more information on how to get there, click on this link.

As usual, my adventurous bro in law always love to explore smaller towns around and we ended up in Serendah, which is around 30+ KM from KL. I definitely never been to this place though in the past, I always pass by the junction to turn into this little town when express buses were still using the old trunk road to travel between towns.

It was like back to the past or feel like back to the colonial times (though I was not born yet then) as the place came to a standstill with those pre-war and old shop houses. Some of the buildings are not well maintained and I guess it may be occupied anymore. Anyway, it was real peaceful over there and it was good to runaway from the city area.

quiet & peaceful... at the background is an hokkien association building
it's like back to the past.... folks enjoying the slow pace of life here

a run down shophouse ..
caught sight of an old but massive tortoise at a chinese temple nearby

We drove to nearby Rawang to savour the black beans fish at the well-known Lan Je restaurant by the roadside. It was very crowded by lunch time. However, their steam fish is famous and almost every table order at least two fishes, which were not very big portion.
three fishes ad three vegetables ...with a meat on the way....
it's a crowd out there..
Well, had a good time going around places nearby the city where I had never been before...
