I took two days off from work last Monday and Tuesday to spend quality time with family.I didn't really do much except sending my kids to school, pay some bills and replied some work emails. Thus, I was in JB all along and besides resting,I enjoyed the wonderful simple food around me, with good company:D It was a good short rest and Yes, I always like to encourage my friends to take short breaks regularly.

Had Bak Kut Teh for dinner , been awhile since I had the black herbal BKT, as I always had the readily available Singaporean type 'white' BKT.

yummy...I love the soup, the lean meat and mushrooms!

A light siew pak choy to balance out the meat
My favourite slice pork meat cooked in ginger

Earlier, I was at my favourite HK restaurant, Kim Gary, and enjoyed a fish fillet spagetti in white corn sauce. There are two Kim Gary outlets in JB, if I am not wrong.

And, not forgetting my cup of HK style coffee as well.

Have a good weekend!
What a weekend! Went for my usual quarterly checkup for cholesterol as well as accompanied wifey for a full checkup which includes cancer markers. And, though the checkup is super cheap, we usually ended up buying stuffs from the pharmacy like supplements, medications and etc.

Persuaded by the aunties who told that I got nice, great complexion and look macho too, (ahem.... Let them continue to bluff...! I felt good) they thought the above would make me look like those Korean actors.( Wah......!) Hahah... Anyway, I got special offer at RM59.90 for the above three items and can use for 3-4 months. and, this seems a good brand, my wife was using it.

Since my memory not as good lately, my dear pharmacist recommended me to take gingko biloba.

It should be helpful in improving blood circulation thus helps memory but then we shouldn't take it before an operation or dental procedures as it is a blood thinner and slow to clot blood. Later I visited my doc and he told me not to take it continuously for long term, stop for 1 month and continued for 3 months as it can be cause internal bleeding...wah...scary!

After the checkup, I enjoyed some local delicacies -

Mee Siam
My wife loves mee siam it always makes a great breakfast!
Dried curry koaw teow
I saw this on the menu and wonder if its as good as Ipoh's. It's great but also a little too 'watery'. It should be very dry like the Ipoh version.

Above.... durian pies! Suddenly I got craving for durian.....hmmm...

And, not forgetting a cup of coffee to start the morning!

15.2.12

Hey folks...how have you been? Again, I felt I disappeared from the blog-sphere recently after CNY. In fact, I was missing in action from several so called routine 'appointments' till I start telling myself to go back to my routines. I was back at the Toastmasters club last Thursday to the surprise of the folks there and I really felt nice to be greeted by the members. :) I didn't workout lately and glad to go back to the gym again. :) However, I haven't attended church yet where two of my ex-cell group members started checking on me. Well, I gotta get myself back soon, maybe this Sunday. And, well I'm back here, blogging again!!

It was a typical past weekend again for me and family, and since my kid gotta attend school last Saturday, I only got to go out last Sunday. Well, the shopping malls were kinda quiet after the holiday seasons and I guess most of the folks hold their wallet back after spending a lot. We had a great tea break at Lavender then in Tebrau City.

Teriyaki salmon rice
Feeling hungry but don't want to stuff myself up, I decided to ask my wifey to share a teriyaki salmon rice with me. It was my first time trying it out though been to Lavender umpteen times. It was delicious and healthy!

Waffles
My kid had a craving for sweet stuff and asked for waffles. I thought it's a good idea too to share with his baby sis. Lavender's waffles always nice!!

A pot of lemongrass tea
We refreshed ourselves with cups of lemongrass tea. Goood to dispel the wind from my stomach... *burp*... opps... excuse me... We back to the mall to run our errands and before we knew it , it's dinner. I suggested Japanese food at the popular Nijyumaru restaurant in Permas Jaya.

Salmon teriyaki set
It's my wifey turn now for her favourite but authentic teriyaki salmon, as compared to the one I had earlier. Love the meaty salmon!!

Bento set
I was actually quite hungry then and went for their massive bento set. It was really full and I can't finish the vegetables on the right. I love the sashimi and sushi though. And, that wind up my weekend before I headed back to Singapore after the dinner.

Have a great mid week , folks!
