of goals and interests .....

First of all,  thanks for all the concerns on my knee pain in my previous post. It's much better now after applying the anti-inflammation plasters and I continued my humble workout regimes as usual. In fact, I workout more intense now than the past which even surprise my own self. In the past and younger days, I even joined an expensive gym but I didn't really utilised it well as I only went there for 2-3 times a week and mostly looking forward to the sauna and steam bath facilities. And, I only ran for less than 20 mins though I did workout and even have a personal instructor, but results are slow.

However, as I grew older, especially for the past 2 years, I am more motivated to workout and almost exercise 5 times a week from Sunday to Thursday. I was so tired yesterday during an almost non-stop 1 and 30 mins of badminton but I guess its motivation that pushed me to workout, and it comes from a goal. I planned to reduce my so-called one pack in my abdomen so that I can be more healthy. Another reason that motivates me is the feel good feeling from an exercise. I guess the feel good hormones released in my system after a workout makes me wanted to continue again and again, like addicted to drugs... haha..

Anyway, it all boils down to goals and when I look back at my goals, I realised I have set too many for myself where I have ignored some of them. I guess its best I cut down my goals to some realistic ones. However, I read an article recently that mentioned its ok to set more goals as we can achieved more, though we may not achieved all. So, that's for a debate! In the end, I guess it's further boils down to interest and goals! For example, if you like running a marathon and willing to train for it , that's interest and goal. I remember once I am willing to take a cab to go for badminton from North to South but unwilling to attend an enrichment talk event nearby.

OK, it seems a long post. I will end it with another simple bento below from my usual haunt at Men-ichi Ramen.

My Shokado Wazen Bento
Have a good weekend, folks !

    2. Ahhhhh!!!! So that's what it is. I'm a real goondoo at Japanese - will only know a few that I would usually go for, not that I go all that often - only 3 or 4 in town...and I can't remember their Japanese names. Went to one really good one in Auckland (my friend was so annoyed that I did not really go crazy over the sashimi that she enjoyed so much) and I loved the beef so so so much - just can't remember the name:

  2. I suppose I can understand. The managers in my office all say the same thing. When their body was alright, they have no motivation to workout. But now that their legs and hands start to give out, they cannot resist those 2 to 3 hours badminton marathon anymore, 3 times a week. When pain then take a break for a week or 2, then go again.
I wonder if I will be like them in 10 years time...

  10. You better believe in cause and effects. So we are what we eat and do.
As our age advances, we need to exercise more if we cannot cut down eating.
Avoid all the fatty food like kampua noodles and kolo mee or even kompia. Not healthy la. Muahahahaha

    1. TM - ahaha... You seem to refer to someone. Anyway, eat moderately and exercise. I know some of friends who just eat and eat and don't bother to workout and if the cholesterol is high, they just fix it by taking a statin (lowering cholesterol drug). I think that's not quite right.

  11. i would think our life is only healthy if we eat moderately and have regular exercise.. not all the time food food food only.. anyway, big and fat or small and slim body also not the main issue lah, as long as we are healthy - healthy which i mean not from the physical body perspective, but the mental perspective like what we think, what we say and what we do.. i guess it's very important that we are mentally healthy and have big hearts and qualms for what we do and say.. agree?? hehehe, just my humble thoughts lah..

    1. SK - Yeah, that's another aspect of well-being too. EQ is very important too , like how you deal with disappointment, laugh over your problems, handling anxieties, not to be too sensitive and petty, have a big heart, forgive and etc.

    2. Spot on Chris. If only all bloggers could think so smart like you to talk sweeter, jibe lesser comments and have a forgiving heart. Oh no! You know what he did? He started to avoid other blogs and deleted all coming comments. So pitiful to know such urchins exists in this world. Tell him go get a life la. Muahahaha

    3. ah you are right, EQ, that's the word.. we have to see things with an open mind and cannot just stay in own comfort zone taking ignorance and indifference about what's happening out there under the sky.. and should also listen to feedback, good or bad, process that but not defending that, only we get to learn and grow..

    4. Whose the "he"? I don't suppose you mean someone that I gave some advice (or whacking) to?

    5. Haha ..I don't really know what's going on but please keep this subject away from this post. After all , it's out of topic. :)

    6. @ RealGunners: i guess there are always people won't usually take in advice but just defend till the end and make sure they are the one who end the debate.. or occasionally, if such people couldn't or felt a little qualm, they will remove all evidence as if nothing has happened..

oh, who's the "he" BTW?? is anyone specific being pinpointed in the comments above?? i thought this is rather a very general discussions?? muahahahaha :D

  17. Anyway I was saying, exercise is addictive! I also feel uneasy when I don't exercise for more than a few days. But if your knee is recovering, you should stop running for the time being. Maybe try swimming :)
