Recently, some of my friends and I have been running consistently in order to reduce our weight and improve our fitness. Although I went to the gym very often, I didn't really ran a lot until of late where I usually go for at least a 5KM run or more, 5 days a week. My group of friends also did the same thing and together with some dieting, we noticed our weight gradually reduced. I have lost around 5kg over the past few months. Of course, it took some 'pains' where we have to be discipline by regularly doing our cardio and reduce our carbo intake. One of my friend even tried the 'My fitness Pal' app and it seems works for him. As for me, I am too lazy to key in all my food intake into the app.

Anyway, the good thing is we seems addicted to running and that's how the idea of joining an entry level marathon comes to mind for some of us. It seems the initial plan and goal has lead to a new hobby...LOL. And, I guess we won't stop after this marathon. :)

Btw, I had lunch with my girl-friend (got hyphen :P) today after been not seeing her for almost a year. It was great to try on Fish and Co. set meals. It came with a soup, main course, drink and an ice-cream. All this cost S$15.90. I think it's affordable.

Mushroom soup

My seafood platter

She had a fish ..err.. some sort of set.

And, a cup of ice-cream
I will be sleeping early on Saturday to wake up early for the run. Wish me good luck. :)

Somehow when my wifey and sister in law braved thru the heavily congested traffic in the JB town area to get to this famous and popular kopitiam in JB, the fussy me as well as my kid were complaining. Moreover, I haven't taken my breakfast yet except a protein shake while my kid just finished his tuition. Probably, both of us were grumpy due to our empty stomach while stuck in the jam. It also doesn't help either as this eatery was crowded and we gotta wait almost 30 mins to have our food served , besides spending some amount of time looking for parking and walked quite a distance. :P

Anyway, after all the complaints and grumpiness from both father and son, somehow we are glad to come to this place...as the food is good!!

Crowded but I like their nostalgic decor... which I guess it's being like that for decades!

This is really an old 'authentic' kopitiam ... unlike those modern ones which trying to be 'nostalgic'. No air cond..no fancy design.... it's like a time warp there.

Finally my glass of ice kopi ... the kopi really 'kau' (thick). I had two cups!!

My kaya toast which I shared with my kid

And , that's my brunch ... a Hainanese chicken chop. It's very delicious and I don't mind going there again!
They have a branch near Sutera Mall, which is much comfortable but I guess nothing beats the original. And, this place is halal too where there were many Malays and Indians having their lunch there. After that,  we took a walk down memory lane in JB old town. Its becoming like Jonker Street there but I didn't take many pixs there.  I will try to share some pixs of the town area if I go there again. :)

It's the last month of 2014 and how time flies! So, how was everybody's plans for this month, which is considered a sabbatical month for most of us. I will be on leave soon having taken leaves for this month, just today. I really had a lot of annual leaves this year and it's better I cleared some of it besides carrying forward the rest to next year. Anyway, it's the time to wind down, enjoy the festive mood and the cool weather.

And speaking of cool weather , I decided to have a hot beef sukiyaki as well as some sushi maki tonight, after a long workout and run. It's so comforting to eat something boiling on a rainy night.

Have a good week!! :)
